Things got exciting in New Jersey recently, as state lottery officials announced that the winner of the $222.6 million Powerball jackpot claimed their prize and a new millionaire was crowned after one ticket won the $1.93 million Jersey Cash 5 jackpot.

Powerball winner comes forward

While the Powerball winner has come forward, they have still chosen to remain anonymous. This Powerball winner is from the Monday, June 10, drawing, and they won the $222.6 million jackpot that night, the second largest jackpot won in New Jersey in 2024.

Of course, the biggest jackpot won in New Jersey in 2024 so far was the March 26, $1.13 billion Mega Million jackpot. As of this writing, that lucky winner has yet to come forward and claim their prize.

For that June 10 Powerball drawing, the winning white ball numbers were 3, 10, 33, 58, and 59, with the Powerball being 9. The lucky winner, who chose the Quick Pick option when buying their ticket, matched all six of the numbers to win the jackpot that night. That was the only jackpot-winning ticket sold for that drawing, and the winner chose the cash option of $104.7 million.

At the New Jersey Lottery headquarters, the lucky winner told officials they were still trying to wrap their head around the big win. They heard the jackpot being discussed on the radio and something told them to check their ticket. When they did, they got the surprise of a lifetime.

After confirming the win, they immediately called a close friend to share the big news. That friend couldn't believe it either, but it's true. Despite collecting their winnings, the winner told officials they didn't have any plans for the money yet.

Lucky lottery retailer

The jackpot-winning ticket was purchased at Preet Food Mart in Lindenwold, Camden County. For selling the winning ticket, the retailer earned a $30,000 bonus check, which a ceremonial check was given to the co-owners, husband and wife Tejinder Singh and Rajvinder Kaur Ghotra, by Executive Director James Carey on June 11.

After getting the bonus check, the lucky husband and wife told New Jersey Lottery officials they have never been to Europe and this bonus gives them many different opportunities.

Mega Millions jackpot still unclaimed

As we stated above, the $1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot from Tuesday, March 26, still remains unclaimed. The winning ticket was purchased in Neptune, New Jersey, and the winning numbers for that drawing were 7, 11, 22, 29, and 38, and the Mega Ball was 4.

The New Jersey Lottery recommends that the winner should sign the back of the ticket, contact professional legal and financial advisors, and then call 1-800-222-0996 to schedule an appointment to file the claim.

Jersey Cash 5 jackpot winner

In addition to the Powerball winner claiming their prize, another lucky New Jersey Lottery player will be making their way to headquarters soon to claim a prize. One lucky ticket matched all five of the numbers drawn for the Friday, July 5, drawing of 加拿大28预测开奖:Jersey Cash 5 to win the $1.93 million jackpot.

The winning numbers for that July 5 drawing were 9, 19, 21, 38, and 40, and the XTRA number was 5. The Bullseye number was 40.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoprite #638, located at 1732 State Route 35 in Belmar. For selling the winning ticket, the retailer will receive a bonus check of $2,000.
